The Hollow Fibre Padded U-Shaped Commode Cushion is a padded buffer that fastens in place with hook and loop ties to securely attach to a number of different commodes. This cushion is designed to guard the user against the harsh, inflexible and cold seat-material traditionally used in the manufacture of commodes.

What Is a U-Shaped Commode Cushion?

A Commode Cushion is designed to sit atop and pad the toilet seat of a commode. Intended for use with disabled, elderly and frail users, this cushion flexes and contours in a way that a rigid toilet seat cannot.

What Does This Hollow Fibre U-Shaped Cushion Do?

Creating a padded layer, the Commode Cushion reduces the chance of elderly and vulnerable patients bruising themselves on the firm base of a commode. It creates a padded layer that makes commode use both comfortable and secure.

Using a Commode Without a Cushion

Commodes are traditionally made with firm material that gets cold easily. These hard and uncomfortable seats can cause bruising and are unable to flexibly mould to your body for comfortable use like a cushion can. 

Hook and Loop Fastenings

Hook and loop fastenings are Velcro style attachments that loop over the legs of the commode to be attached again at the rear. This creates a safe and secure fastening that promises to keep your cushion in place during use.

What Is the U-Shaped Cushion Made From?

The Cushion has a hollow-fibre filling that uses fine strands of polyester to form a bouncy and light, duvet-style centre. Hollow-fibre is incredibly light and retains heat well, meaning your cushion will stay warm when in contact with your body.

Can I Wash the U-Shaped Commode Cushion?

Whilst the U Shaped Commode Cushion isn't waterproof, it has a vapour permeable cover that can prevent small amounts of water seeping inside. As a result, we would recommend that you simply use a warm, damp cloth to wash the cover of your cushion.
