ProCare Adams Semi-Rigid Collar

Whiplash is all too common, especially in victims of car accidents, and this can cause soft tissue damage in the area. The ProCare Adams Semi-Rigid Collar is constructed to stabilise and support your neck following an injury. Semi rigid in design, the support holds your neck in a neutral position to provide it with the time necessary to heal.

Indications for the Adams Collar

Designed to provide semi-rigid support to your neck, the Adams Semi-Rigid Collar is ideal for use if you've experience soft tissue damage (i.e. whiplash) in the area. The support contains mouldable polystyrene beads for an excellent fit and improved support, making it ideal for stabilising and supporting the neck.

Optimises Comfort

The Adams Semi-Rigid Collar contains mouldable polystyrene beads that can be adapted to suit your physiology. This not only helps improve the fit of the support, but it also helps you remain comfortable for use over long periods of time. These beads are covered by a 100% cotton, naturally coloured stockinette to protect your neck against the beads in the support.

Maximises Patient Compliance

Extremely easy to adjust and apply, the ProCare Adams Collar maximises patient compliance. This facilitates healing, allowing you to make a speedy recovery without fear of re-injury.

Sizing of the ProCare Semi-Rigid Support

Available in three different sizes, the ProCare Adams Collar fits your anatomy well. To find out which size you require, please measure the circumference of your neck with your head straight and check the table below. If your measurement falls within two of the sizes, it is advised that you choose the larger of the sizes for a more comfortable and less restrictive fit.

Care Instructions

Owing to the polystyrene beads within the support, the Adams Semi-Rigid Collar couldn't be easier to clean. The beads permit a quick hand wash using water not exceeding 40°C in temperature.

Do not machine wash as this results in shrinkage.

Delivery - Free UK Mainland Delivery

Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and is normally dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. For orders placed outside of this timeframe, they should be dispatched on the next working day.

The delivery expectation of order sent via Royal Mail is 1 to 3 working days.

Suggestion for neck collar

Unfortunately although the collar is very good, there is not enough Velcro fastener for me. I am not overweight but as I have osteoporosis my neck appears thicker. We’ve added an extra length of Velcro so it can be used. A helpful suggestion that it can be fastened under the chin and slid round to correct position might help the people with limited shoulders movement.

Along with the exercises from radiotherapy, certainly making a big difference to my lymphoedema.

Comfortable but too deep

I found this collar very comfortable, mouldable beading and cotton cover. But too deep, and it’s a shame a choice of depth is not available. So had to return for this reason only, disappointing..

I was so relieved at last to find this collar. Many years ago when I fitted these collars , I bought one myself. I understood from the physios that I worked with that these were specially designed for night use ( not day) they did not stop development of neck muscles and offered comfort ( filling the gap between shoulders and pillow). I will now be able to dispose of my very thin old one. Thankyou.

The collar seems fine as a support, although I have only had it a few days. I was sorry to find the Velcro fastener was too short, even though I am not a big man and we had the large collar. We have added a short length of Velcro to overcome this problem

Adams collar

I bought the Adams collar and ordered a medium, but found it very tight. I'm going to order a large which will be perfect. Great product and great price. Only problem is there is no delivery to Ireland. I had it delivered to my brothers house in Swansea. He then sent it to me in Cork City. £40 to post it was steep.
