NCM Omega Plus Splinting Material

The NCM Omega Plus Splinting Material is designed to tolerate aggressive handling and can be used to create a number of different splints. The lack of drape makes it ideal for patients with involuntary movement and the fact that it can be reheated and reformed makes it ideal for novice splinters or those who splint infrequently.

• Allow approximately 3 - 4 minutes to set up at 160 ºF (71 ºC)

How Does the Omega Plus Splinting Material Bond?

This splinting material is uncoated and provides a very sticky surface when warm, bonding without the need for solvents. Since it adheres to itself you can use the omega plus material as a bonding agent to attach outriggers or other accessories to a splint. To do so, simply apply dry heat to the surface until it becomes shiny then attach accessories directly to the material. Wet bonds can be released in warm water if necessary. For easier handling, add liquid soap to water and keep thermoplastic damp while moulding.
