Locomotor Rota Stand

The Locomotor Rota Stand allows a safe, smooth and controlled swivel transfer. It features a height adjustable frame to suit all, a pedal break to secure the turn-table, central wheels for easy positioning and an angled and height adjustable shin pad for correct standing position.

The Locomotor Rota Stand reduces the need to "hold" a patient during a transfer and encourages an independent and dignified transfer.

The Locomotor Rota Stand has been developed to allow an assisted transfer from one seated position to another, the frame, shin pad and turn table combine to give optimum safety to both carer and patient during the transfer.

How to use the Locomotor Rota Stand

• Before using your Rota Stand adjust the height of the handlebar to suit the patient/client. To adjust the height of the handle, first slacken the hand wheel to release the handle from the lower tube, and position the handle to about the desired position and then push the handle away from the hand wheel and move it up or down till one of the handle holes is positively located over the projection in the lower tube, re tighten the hand wheel. The shin pad can be moved up or down by 40mm by removing the two fixing screws and attaching it using the two alternative fixing holes. 
• The Rota Stand can be manoeuvred on its rear wheels and brought to position in front of the patient/client. Assist the patient/client to the front of their chair, ready to stand and place the patient/client’s feet on the non slip foot plate and gently wheel the Rota Stand up to the patient/client on its central wheels using the foot bar provided.The Rota Stand should end up with the patient/client’s shins firmly against the shin pad. From this position put your foot on the brake in order to stabilize the Rota Stand and encourage the patient/client, using the handlebar, to pull themselves into a standing position. If more assistance is required then a second nurse/carer may assist the patient/client to stand using a handling belt around their waist. 
• Once in a standing position, take your foot off the brake and gently rotate the Rota Stand to the position required and encourage the patient/client to sit, reversing the above procedure.

• Wash with detergent and hot water, then dry thoroughly. 
• Decontaminate during general use with Universal sanitising wipes 
• Decontaminate before reissue with 70% isopropyl alcohol or 10,000 ppm chlorine solution or dry super heated steam vapour cleaning. No other methods are approved or recommended. 
• Before every use always ensure that the handlebar and knee pad height adjustment means are fully tightened and that the brake is functional. Always be vigilant and check for damage
