Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser

The Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser limits the abduction, extension, internal and external rotation of the humerus. The Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser supports and helps to immobilise the shoulder, and this sling can be used following shoulder surgery, fracture and/or surrounding soft tissue injury.

The adjustable neck and waist strap of the Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser features a Y-tab system allowing for secure clinical positioning. The Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser features a press button closure, allowing elbow mobilisation and inspection without the need to remove the full sling.

Actimove Umerus Comfort Shoulder Immobiliser sizes:

Please measure your arm length from the tip of your elbow to the base of your little finger (where your little finger meets your palm). Please do not be surprised if your arm length corresponds with a smaller than expected size as the sizing of this product is quite large.

If your measurement is on the boundary of two sizes, please select the larger size for comfort and fit. 

Precautions For Using The Actimove Umerus Shoulder Immobiliser Sling

This sling is to be fitted, initially by a healthcare professional familiar with the purpose for which it is prescribed. The healthcare professional is responsible for providing guidance to the patient and his/her care providers.

If unusual swelling, skin discolouration or discomfort occurs, use should be discontinued and a healthcare professional consulted.

Be careful that the sling is not so tight that it interferes with circulation. Undertake circulatory observation post product application.

Ensure appropriate wound care procedures are undertaken prior to application over opened wounds or infected areas.

Exercise caution in the presence of fluctuating oedema.

Caring For Your Actimove Umerus Shoulder Immobiliser Sling

Close fasteners. Machine wash at 30 degrees Celsius / 86 degrees Fahrenheit (delicate fabrics) or hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild soap. Allow to air dry at room temperature. Be sure the sling is thoroughly dry before re-applying it.

Wearing the Actimove Umerus Shoulder Immobiliser Sling

1. Position the elbow in the pocket of the sling and apply the neck strap across the back and over the unaffected shoulder.

2. Feed the loose strap end through the ring and fasten the hook.

3. For a properly positioned envelope sling, the hand should be slightly elevated above the elbow. Place the thumb in the thumb loop if desired.

4. Position the neck pad in the desired location.

5. Undo the Y-tab hook closure. Adjust the neck and waist straps to the required length. Then reattach the Y-tabs to maintain the position.
