Aircast Ankle Sprain Three-Stage Recovery Pack

If you're recovering from a severe ankle injury, it's crucial that the ankle supports you're using keep up with your stages of recovery to make sure you're getting the right level of support. Combining three carefully-selected Aircast ankle braces, the Aircast Ankle Sprain Three-Stage Recovery Pack is designed to provide the protection you need to recover, as well as gradually-increasing freedom of movement to help you get back to the activities you love.

Remember: every ankle injury will progress at its own pace, so always consult your physician before introducing a new level of activity to your injured ankle.

What's Included?

Designed and selected by the experts at Aircast, this kit includes three braces that will provide your ankle with the ideal level of support as it progresses through recovery. This pack includes:

Will These Supports Help My Ankle Recover On Their Own?

While these ankle braces can provide the right support and compression, they should be used as part of your overarching recovery method set out by a physiotherapist or physician. We recommend these braces as part of an ongoing RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) strategy. Learn more in our article about the RICE method.

Stage One: the Aircast Air-Stirrup Universe Ankle Brace

Once your physician has told you that you don't need to use a Walker Boot the Aircast Air-Stirrup is ideal for the first stages of recovery. The Aircast Air-Stirrup Universe Ankle Brace reduces swelling and pain following an ankle sprain, and is suitable for the following conditions:

  • Acute ankle injury
  • Ankle sprains
    • Ankle Sprain Grade 1: Sore ankle with slight swelling; your ligament may be overstretched
    • Ankle Sprain Grade 2: Prolonged pain and swelling; unable to bear weight on your injured ankle; some bruising from a partial ligament tear
    • Ankle Sprain Grade 3: Popping sound at point of injury; severe pain, swelling, and bruising; full ligament tear
  • Chronic instability
  • Post-operative use

The Air-Stirrup Universe Ankle Brace compresses the ankle, utilising Duplex aircell technology for comfort and cushioning. It is also anatomically designed for the best possible fit, and encourages ambulation such as light walking to promote healing through rehabilitation.

Stage Two: Aircast AirSport Ankle Brace

Once you're over the initial pain, and your injury begins to heal, you can progress to the Aircast AirSport Ankle Brace. It features a cross strap to provide compression and stability, helping you to prevent further injury.

Foam-filled aircells offer cushioning, while the step-in design allows you to conveniently step in, strap up, and go about your day. The AirSport is particularly suited to acute ankle distortion, ligament lesion, and prophylaxis, and can be worn during light sporting activities.
