Made with inflatable lateral air pads inside rigid plastic shells, the brace inflates to provide firm yet comfortable pressure on either side of the ankle, helping to hold it in place while compressing the area to mitigate inflammation.

Which Size Should I Choose?

As this brace opens up fully and is adjustable to accommodate almost any calf circumference, it is available in two broad sizes based on the user's height. The two sizes are as follows:

• Size 0: 60 - 139cm height
• Size 1: 140 - 210cm height

Comfortable Immobilisation and Compression

This brace is ideal for injuries that can accommodate weight-bearing, but still require rigid immobilisation and firm compression. The lateral pads can be inflated to your desired level, with each pump increasing both the compression and lateral immobilisation of the ankle joint.

Is the Ligacast Ankle Brace Suitable for Swollen Ankles?

The Thuasne Ligacast is ideal for use when recovering from swelling or oedema caused by ankle sprains. We would recommend using the Ligacast as part of RICE recovery, as outlined below:

• Rest: Try and avoid putting your ankle under any undue strain
• Ice: Ice your ankle regularly, using a product such as the Dura Soft Foot and Ankle Ice Pack Wrap
• Compression: Compression will reduce pain and swelling while promoting blood flow
• Elevation: Keeping your ankle elevated can help with circulation

Rigid Side Shells

Designed with two rigid side shells, the Ligacast Brace with Air Pads stabilises your ankle to help improve your injury. The Velcro straps can also be tightened to further immobilise your ankle and provide the necessary support.
