Catheters are often used in patients for various medical reasons so it's important to ensure that the procedure is as painless as possible. You can use the Life/Form Male and Female Cather Models to practise the proper insertion of lubricated catheters and sterile cleaning techniques before, during and after insertion.

How Do I Use the Male Catheter Model?

• Make sure the balloon on the catheter is fully deflated before insertion or removal. Always lubricate the catheter thoroughly before each insertion.
• Lift the penis to straighten the urethra. Gently insert the catheter into the urethral meatus, through the prostrate and into the bladder.
• Proper insertion in a live patient is evidenced by a flow of urine through the tube.

How Do I Use the Female Catheter Model?

• Make sure the balloon on the catheter is fully deflated before insertion or removal. Always lubricate the catheter thoroughly before each insertion.

• Spread the labia, locate the urethral meatus between the clitoris and vagina, and gently insert the catheter until it is positioned within the bladder (about 7.5cm). Proper insertion in a live patient is evidenced by a flow of urine through the tube.

How Do I Clean these Catheter Models?

• You should wash these with mild soap and water if they become soiled.
• Solvents or corrosive materials will damage these models.
• Never place models on any kind of printed paper or plastic as they will transfer an indelible stain.
• Always store them in the bag when not in use.

These Life/Form models have been designed with durable materials and comes with five years warranty.
