Darco Slimline Cast Boot

After surgery or injury, it's important that feet are properly protected to guard against re-injury or aggravation. The Darco Slimline Cast Boot is a traditional cast shoe that can be adapted to fibreglass casts, bulky compression bandages and a variety of wound care applications, making it an extremely versatile wound care solution which combines sound practicality with soothing comfort.

Is the Boot Comfortable to Wear?

This boot is designed to be as protective as possible while remaining highly comfortable and forgiving. The square toe acts as a protective bumper for the toes, shielding them from any stubs or impacts. To ensure a comfortable walking style, the rocker sole makes for a smooth roll throughout the gait pattern.

Is the Darco Boot Adjustable?

Post-operative footwear must be secure and stable to prevent unwanted friction and movement. That's why this boot's forefoot closure can be adjusted to provide a perfect fit, with a choice between a left and right closure. For full stability, a higher ankle strap is included, which firmly secures the foot in the correct position.

Can the Shoe Be Used With an Insole?

The Darco Boot features a fully removable insole that can be replaced with a Darco Peg Assist Insole if additional pressure offloading at precise points of the foot is required. This means that the comfort of the boot can be boosted on top of its already high level.

The Darco Slimline Cast Boot is sold as a single item suitable for either foot, and is available in five sizes. Please consult the table below before selecting your required size from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.

Yes, the Cast Boot is designed to easily fit your left or your right foot. Please note that this purchase includes a single shoe only.

Will This Post-Operative Boot Fit My Dressing?

Yes, thanks to the adjustable hook and loop closures, the Post-Operative Boot is highly adjustable. This means it can easily accommodate all types of dressings.

Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and is normally dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. For orders placed outside of this timeframe, they should be dispatched on the next working day.

I ordered two of these cast boots after ending up with both of my lower legs in plaster after breaking both of my feet.
They arrived quickly and have proved, so far, to be a fantastic purchase! The ones I was given from the hospital where really no good. These Darco boots are much better quality and have meant I can go some short distances using crutches, which is a huge relief! 5 stars!

This boot is excellent quality. It is very sturdy, the Velcro fastening is very strong & once positioned correctly on the cast it does not move. My daughter has size 4 feet & we ordered small which was a perfect fit. The one provided by the hospital would not stay on so this was a must. Would highly recommend.

Slimcast boot

The boot was (excuse the pun) a massive step up from what my son had previously to protect his foot (full leg cast). It gave him greater freedom when he was struggling with the realisation that a fractured femur might have completely ruined his summer. In the end he was a demon on crutches! Thank you.

A good boot - practical and comfortable

I would recommend this boot but not for long distance walking - it is well made but quite soft and light; need to take care on uneven surfaces, steps etc. Excellent prompt delivery from Health and Care, from whom I have purchased another item. Was impressed with their help and advice.
