Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board

When someone is in danger of drowning, a swift and safe extraction can be the difference between life and death. To help lifeguards carry out rescues quickly and safely, the Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board has an anti-slip neoprene surface and an X-strap system that allows for speedy immobilisation and efficient removal from the pool.

How Many Lifeguards Are Required?

The PXB Board can be operated by just two trained lifeguards to carry out a pool rescue quickly and safely from deck level pools or pools with a freeboard height of less than 30cm. For pools with freeboards higher than 30cm, three operators are recommended. 

How Do You Use the PXB Extraction Board?

One operator securely holds the board to the side of the pool by kneeling on the anchor mat and keeping the board held into the water at an angle, whilst the other operator brings the casualty onto the board, securing the casualty onto the board using the 5 restraint straps. The casualty can then be quickly and safely dragged out of the pool using the anchor mat as a dedicated drag handle.

Increase Rescue Speed

There are numerous innovations that improve rescue speed when using the PXB board, including colour-coded restraints for ease of deployment, neutral buoyancy that allows the casualty to be held on the water surface without the need for floatation devices and specially designed runners underneath the board that aid the process of dragging the casualty out of the pool. 

Integrated Infection Control

Ensuring excellent levels of hygiene is essential to a successful rescue because it helps to avoid secondary infections. The head blocks contain anti-bacterial additives for superlative infection control and the easy-to-operate fixation system includes specially developed anti-bacterial Velcro.
