How Do I Use the Alerta Wireless Mat and Receiver?
The Alerta Wall Point Receiver and Pressure Mat can be quickly paired for immediate fall protection and care. Once you've paired them, the sensor mat will send a signal whenever it is stepped or fallen on. This will trigger the receiver's alarm if you're using it as a standalone system, or an alarm will be sent through to a nurse call system if your receiver is connected to one.
Who Can Use the Wireless Fall Mat and Receiver?
The Alerta Mat and Receiver bundle is an excellent choice for anyone who's looking for a comprehensive fall alarm system. Both the mat and receiver can be used as part of a nurse call system for multiple patients, or as a standalone system for residential care. This means it's perfect for use by a range of carers to immediately alert them when a patient falls or wanders out of bed.

Where Can You Place the Fall Alarm System?
The Deluxe Pressure Mat is best placed directly next to a patient's bed or door. Placing it here will ensure any fall or attempt to wander is immediately indicated to the nursing or care staff. As soon as the mat is triggered, it instantly activates the wall point receiver to allow the caregiver to immediately check if the patient is OK.
To ensure best results, the Wall Point Receiver should be placed within a 95m range of the mat. The maximum range will depend on the type of building materials and number of obstructions, but should provide more than enough range for the majority of care settings. It can be plugged into the mains using a range of plug types (these can be selected from the menu at the top of the page) or battery-powered.
How Do I Use the Wireless Receiver As a Standalone System?
Although most care homes and hospitals with a nurse call system are likely to connect the mat to the system, the Alerta Wireless Receiver can also work brilliantly as a standalone option. This makes it ideal for residential care and smaller care home settings, with the mat sending a signal directly to the receiver to sound the alarm. This also allows the carer to carry the Alerta Wall Point Receiver with them as they attend to other tasks, as seen in the image below.
Can I Connect the Receiver to Other Sensors?
As well as connecting to the Deluxe Pressure Mat, the Alerta Wall Point Wireless Receiver can also be paired with up to five other devices to create a multi-patient fall prevention system. This integrates a range of sensors into one nurse call system or standalone alarm point for maximum effectiveness. Once you've paired the receiver with other Alerta devices, it will only interact with the intended wireless devices and won't interfere with other receivers in operation.
