The Rolyan Progressive Palm Protector Splint with Wrist Support is a progressive soft splint for patients with neurological conditions and arthritis. With adjustable straps, a reliable wrist support, and a choice of three different foam sizes for improving conditions, it offers optimal support while assisting with patient progression.

How Does the Progressive Palm Protector Splint Work?

The Rolyan Progressive Palm Protector Splint comprises a splint base and straps, which securely hold the foam palm piece in place. The foam piece is available in various sizes to accommodate different levels of spasticity or contractures, and can be replaced with a larger size as conditions improve.

The inclusion of the wrist support provides increased stability for the patient. The removable Ezeform stay can be moulded for wrist extension, and the D-ring attachments allow for a more secure fit. The straps of the splint can also be adjusted so that they provide support for just the thumb or fingers, or both the thumb and fingers together.

Indications of the Progressive Palm Protector Splint

The Progressive Palm Protector Splint is designed for patients with neurological conditions and arthritis. When the correct foam size is used, it can enhance treatments and progression for patients with mild, moderate, or severe spasticity or contractures.

The splint is large enough to accommodate most hands, and can be trimmed down to size for patients with smaller hands. The foam pieces are ideal for patients with metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint flexion of between thirty and ninety degrees.

Sizing of the Progressive Palm Protector Splint

The Progressive Palm Protector Splint is available for both the right and the left hand, and the foam palm protector pads come in a choice of three sizes. To determine the size required, extend the fingers as far as comfortably tolerable, then measure the flexion angle at the MCP joint of the tightest finger.
