How Realistic Is this Model?

How Do I Take Care of this Haemodialysis Practice Arm?

Normal soil and dirt accumulated on the surface of the simulator can be cleaned easily with mild soap and lukewarm water. Solvents or corrosive materials will damage the simulator and you should never place it on any printed paper or plastic that will leave indelible stains.

To clean the 'blood' from the arm after training, follow the below procedure:

1. After use, disconnect the blood and flush the system.
2. Unclamp the pinch clamp at the end of the tubing and remove IV sets from the arm.
3. Use tap water to flush the system. Wash outside of arm with mild soap and water.
4. Excess water may be removed from the fistula by raising the hand, lowering the upper arm and draining it into a receptacle.
5. Always drain the excess water from vascular system before storing.
