I tried various heel pads and very expensive heel lift boots but the Real Sheepskin Heel Protectors were the only ones that worked for me. I had developed a very painful pressure sore on my right heel, but the various products I tried were either too cumbersome or just ineffective. Luckily I stumbled across the Real Sheepskin Heel Protectors. They were a lot more expensive than the standard heel pads but I'm glad I tried them out.
They have thick but lovely and soft sheepskin lining which provides instant relief. Wearing these for a few weeks enabled my pressure sore to heal. I can now manage without them and have bought a soft memory foam mattress topper to prevent future pressure sores developing.
The Real Sheepskin Heel Protectors are excellent for pressure relief. However, there are two reasons why I did not give a 5 star rating. Firstly the velcro strap does slip/come loose after a while. It may help to brush the velcro from time to time to get rid of any fluff etc and help them to stick. But I bought some short luggage straps with plastic buckles to wrap around the existing straps. I find this keeps the protectors in place even when I move around in bed.
The second issue is that the black dye marked my sheets and discoloured the skin on my heels. Probably made worse by the foot cream I use but I suggest you soak or wash the protectors a couple of times before you first use them.
Despite these two issues, the protectors do a great job in achieving their primary function which is to protect your heels from pressure sores. That is why I happily give them a four star rating.

I have received a lot of comfort from the the real sheepskin heel protectors. They are very large and it is difficult to get them on tight enough so that they do not to slip. I have to pull to get them on securely and the stitching is already coming apart . Is there any way for me to buy another pair which is smaller than the ones I have. I certainly do applaud your use of real sheepskin. Thank you. Delivery was prompt and quick and the packaging was excellent.

Waste of money, come off feet in the night, do not provide any protection

My problem is that I cannot keep them in position on my heels immediately getting into bed. I propose to purchase bed socks to put over the top in the hope of keeping them in position

Saved the day - terrible service elsewhere meant a dear friend with MS was developing bed sores when at end of life. The swift delivery of the heel protectors ensured at least his feet stayed warm and comfortable and his sore heels relieved.

Found these to be very comfortable and certainly lessened the pressure on my heels. Just occasionally, the Velcro became loose.

These are good in that they are thick and protective for the heels. However, although the BACK of the heel needs full thickness for protection, UNDERNEATH the heel the thickness shortens the height of the protector, and this unbalances the whole so it tend to slip sideways or off in bed, or else ride up around the ankle. This could be avoided perhaps by shaving off the wool which lies UNDERNEATH the heel.
