Baseline Stainless Steel Finger Goniometer

Measuring the range of motion at small joints is made simple with the Baseline Stainless Steel Finger Goniometer. The 180° measurement tool enables accurate monitoring of a patient's range of motion, and can provide these measurements in increments of 5°. The linear scale included includes measurements in both centimetres and inches.

What's Included?

  • 1 x 180° Small Goniometer

How Does the Small Joint Goniometer Work?

Goniometers are a measuring tool used to calculate the range of motion (ROM) of a joint. There are different sizes of goniometer, each useful for measuring the ROM at various joints. This small measuring tool is ideal for use on finger joints (metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal), and other small joints including toes.

This handy tool can be used to measure both active joint ranges, when a patient bends or straightens their own joints, and passive joint ranges, whereby the movement is done by an external force.

Who Can Use the Goniometer?

Goniometers are ideal for use by physiotherapists as a method of gathering information about a patient's baseline ROM, as well as to monitor the progress of joint range during recovery.

Although it is possible to measure and track your own ROM with a goniometer, it is recommended that you allow a medical professional to do this. This will help to avoid inaccurate measurements, and ensure complete clarification on what the ideal range for your joints is.
