What Is SAD?
Often described as 'Winter Depression', Seasonal Affective Disorder is a type of depression that tends to occur during the winter. As with other types of depression, SAD symptoms include low mood and a lack of interest in life feeling irritable, feelings of despair, low self-esteem, a lack of energy and needing to sleep more. Whilst the causes are not fully understood, it is thought that the reduced exposure to sunlight may play an important role in SAD because sunlight affects some of our hormones.
How Do I Know if I Have SAD?
There are many signs and symptoms that indicate that you may have SAD. You may experience low mood, increased sleepiness and lack of energy during the colder months. We recommend that you speak to your doctor if you suspect you have SAD.

How Many Settings Does the Beurer SAD Lamp Have?
The Beurer Light Therapy Lamp has three unique settings that are designed to imitate the natural progression of a sunny day. The Beurer SAD Lamp can also be used in a targeted manner to support different work and rest phases throughout your day:
- Active: This mode imitates the morning light and is ideal for when you need to focus and concentrate
- Therapy: This setting imitates the afternoon light and can help improve motivation and mood balance
- Relax: This option imitates the evening light and is effective for helping you to relax and unwind
What Time of Day Should I Use the Beurer SAD Lamp?
Beurer recommends the following two applications:

Beurer recommends positioning yourself as close as possible to the Beurer Therapy Lamp (approx. 20 - 45cm). They advise that treatment is most effective when used for at least 7 consecutive days.

Delivery - Free UK Mainland Delivery
Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and is normally dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. For orders placed outside of this timeframe, they should be dispatched on the next working day.
