The Ossur Equalizer Air Walker Boot is a lightweight, affordable alternative to conventional casting that immobilises the foot and ankle at 90 degrees. This protective boot comprises a patented pneumatic system that increases stability while decreasing pain and swelling, helping your injury to heal as quickly and painlessly as possible.

For foot problems where the ankle is unaffected, the Equalizer Air Walker Boot is available in a Short Top version.

How Does the Pneumatic Pump System Work?

The Ossur Formfit Walker Boot uses an intuitive pneumatic pump system to help alleviate pain and swelling. It works by inflating air cells within the boot to increase the level of compression, which in turn improves circulation and stimulates recovery. Adjusting the level of inflation is very straightforward, simply press the big blue button at the front of the boot to inflate, and use the clearly marked decompression valve to deflate.

Shock Absorbing System

The air system in the Ossur Equalizer Air Walker Boot accommodates for the swelling patterns that occur throughout the rehabilitation process. Unlike casts, the Air Walker has been engineered with a unique shock-absorbing sole – this reduces impact from the heel strike and improves comfort during ambulation. Incorporated into the sole of the walker is a wide rocker bottom, which is fitted with anti-slip tread, to increase stability and helps to promote a natural gait.
