Who Can Use the trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker?

This device is ideal for protecting older and vulnerable members of your family from unwanted phone calls. This may be useful to prevent those with limited mobility from having to frequently get to the phone, or to keep them safe from scams. The Nuisance Call Blocker protects against:

How Does the trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker Work?

What Do the Star and Zap List Do?

Once trueCall has been connected to the home phone, the user creates their own personal Star List, containing the numbers of people they wish to be connected to, and a Zap List, containing the numbers of unwanted callers.

The trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker checks the numbers of all incoming calls. If the incoming caller is on the user's personal Star List, they are connected instantly. If the number is on the Zap List, trueCall answers the call itself and politely tells the caller that the user is not interested in the call and their home phone never rings! The user can also add a number to their Star List by simply pressing the star button at any time during a call.

What Happens If a Number Is Withheld or Unrecognised?

If the incoming number is not recognised or withheld, trueCall simply asks the caller who they are and then puts them on hold. The home phone then rings and trueCall tells the user who is calling. The user can then choose to accept the call, have trueCall take a message or 'Zap' the caller, declining the call and adding the number to the users Zap List.

Will One Unit Work for Multiple Phones?

Yes, a single trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker Unit will work for all phones operating with the same phone number.

How Else Can I Manage My trueCall Unit?

You can optionally manage and control your unit online through your personal Internet Control Panel (see example here). This allows you to view a log of all your incoming and outgoing calls, edit your trusted callers list and change your configuration settings.

How Does the Blocker Work With Standard Telephones?

The trueCall integrates easily with the user's broadband connection by just unplugging the telephone and plugging it into the Nuisance Call Blocker. The trueCall Nuisance Call Blocker works well on all standard domestic telephones line from all main network providers and is compatible with a large variety of telephone equipment. 

Can You Use the Unit without an Internet Connection?

Yes, the trueCall unit can be used on on its own without connection to the internet.

How Much Power Does the Call Blocker Use?

Using less than 1% of the power of a standard light bulb, trueCall is an Energy Star Certified product and has been designed to continue working even if there is a power cut.

Please note that you need a caller-ID service from your network provider to access all of the trueCall blocker's features. This service is usually free.

Since installing Call Blocker, we have not had to deal with a single nuislance call (we had been receiving several every day) and genuine callers appear to have had no trouble contacting us.

We were getting up to 10 calls a day, and our phone was only able to block specific numbers. Being able to block all numbers beginning 0203 was a great idea. The only disadvantage we have found is that we have a couple of friends who have withheld their numbers and they have to announce themselves each time, but they don't ring us that often anyway. We found the website useful to enter our starred numbers, but since then it doesn't give us a list of the missed calls which it is supposed to do. But we're not bothered about that anyway, so we won't be buying a subscription after a year.

Wish I’d done this sooner. My mother is no longer being disturbed and harassed daily by numerous nuisance calls. I have it set to family and friends only. Easy to set up.

Fairly easy to set up, however I would advise you have a good read of the Instructions.

Even though you pay £99 for this unit it will pay for itself eventually as BT charge per month for their choose to refuse service.

I now look forward to those pesky people ringing trying to sell PPI reclaiming and those people who are convinced you have had an accident and need to claim!!! All I have to do is press # on my phone and trueCall Blocker Zaps them and blocks them .....Brilliant!!!
