The Derby Handle Walking Stick includes a rubber ferrule at the base of the shaft. This helps to reduce the risk of slipping by providing friction between the shaft and the ground.

The ferrule also helps to increase the longevity of the walking stick. It takes the force of the ground whenever the stick strikes against it, working to protect the shaft.
