Who Can Use the Invacare Active Cushion?

This pressure relief cushion is designed to facilitate excellent pressure redistribution when used with both wheelchairs and standard armchairs. This cushion is ideal for patients who are more active, focusing on comfortable and easy transfers. 

What are Vicair SmartCells?

The Active O2 Cushion features unique Vicair air-technology (air-filled SmartCells). Air is an excellent medium for pressure redistribution, helping to efficiently prevent pressure sores. When you sit on the Active O2 you are supported by hundreds of these SmartCells, which:

• Move with minimal friction
• Conform to your body's contours
• Keep the cushion stable
• Prevent patient sliding and maintain posture

Is the Vicair Active O2 Comfortable?

The Active O2 offers an innovative combination of ergonomically shaped foam and Vicair SmartCells. The four rear SmartCell compartments provide superb comfort and skin protection, whilst also reducing pressure on the sitting bones and tailbone. 

How Does this Cushion Facilitate Transfers?

The foam front makes transfers easy due to its ergonomic shape. This also helps the cushion feel steady and improves wheelchair handling. 

Is the Invacare O2 Pressure Redistribution Cushion Hygienic?

The foam inlay of this product is protected by an easy-to-clean fluid-resistant liner. As the rest of the cushion is 100% machine washable and breathable, this also provides optimal hygiene and superb temperature and moisture regulation.

Which Size Is Right for Me?

This cushion is available in a selection of sizes to suit your chair. It's important that your patient is seated properly on their pressure relief cushion, so set-up is extremely important. See the image below for a sizing guide.

The width (X) of the cushion should match the width of the wheelchair seat. When the cushion rests against armrests or side-guards, the width of the Vicair seat cushion may be up to 2.5 cm (1”) wider. The depth (Y) of the cushion and seat should match. Then, simply select your preferred size from the drop-down menu.

Two Height Options Available

This cushion is available with either a 6cm or 9cm height depending on user requirements. The 6cm version features smaller Vicair SmartCells, whilst the 9cm features the standard. Simply select your preferred height from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
