Please note that this thumb support only offers stabilisation to the CMC and MCP joints in the thumb, if you wish to find a finger support please check out our full range of finger splints here.
How Effective are Thumb Supports for Treating Rheumatism?
Thumb supports reduce pain and help improve grip strength for people with rheumatoid arthritis, according to a review published in the Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine. This information is further backed by the Rheumatology Clinic and Outpatient Department, National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Poland which demonstrated that hand function of women with RA was limited due to reduction in grip quality and manual dexterity, but that wrist stabilization with wrist braces improves hand function in patients with RA.
Does the Pro-Rheuma Wrist Thumb Brace Feature Stays?
Yes, the Pro-Rheuma Wrist Brace features a padded, malleable aluminium thumb stay that gently rests against the thumb-side of the brace to promote correct alignment during the healing stage of recovery. This is a vital feature for those recovering from injury like a sprain or minor fracture.
What's So Special About Neoprene?
Neoprene is one of the most lightweight and flexible synthetic polymers on the market today. Designed to be highly flexible without inhibiting the breathability of the brace, a neoprene foundation helps release odour and perspiration throughout the day.
