It can be difficult to monitor a dementia patient, particularly if they tend to wander off. You don't want to compromise their independence or privacy, but equally may not want to let them out of your sight for fear to may get lost and harm themselves.

Floor pressure sensor mats are designed to alert a carer when someone has left a room, sending signals to a pager. However, these can be flimsy or a slip hazard, and have to be concealed under a standard rug or mat. 

The POCSAG Universal Transmitter with Heavy Duty Floor Mat is a durable mat with a non-slip design. Therefore, you can even place it on tiled floor without worrying that your patient will slip on it, and won't need to cover it with an existing mat. The POCSAG Universal Transmitter is ideal for use in larger buildings such as care homes, helping you stay in range and be there when your patient needs you. 

How Does the POCSAG Universal Transmitter with Mat Work?

Activated by pressure, the mat works with your existing POCSAG Pager to help you keep tabs on someone in your care. The mat may be placed next to the bed of a patient or in a doorway or staircase to act as a bed leaving alarm. Non-slip and heavy duty, you do not need to place the mat under an existing rug, unlike many other floor pressure mats.

The transmitter will signal your existing pager if pressure is detected, and unlimited transmitters can be used with this system, perfect for monitoring multiple patients in a care home.
