Darco Softie Post-Operative Shoe

After surgery or during rehabilitation following a serious injury to the feet, it's vital that adequate protection is used to guard against reaggravation or further injury. The Darco Softie Post-Operative Shoe is an economical post-operative shoe designed for soft tissue trauma or surgery.

Lightweight and comfortable, this shoe is a cost-effective alternative to premium products that still provides great levels of rigidity and forefoot control.

How Do I Apply My Darco Post-Op Shoe?

When injuries are involved, it's vital you take good care to apply any rehabilitative wear carefully. Please follow the instructions below to make sure your Darco Rehabilitation Shoe fits perfectly:

  1. Measure the dimensions of your foot carefully against the sizing chart below
  2. Once you receive the correct size, loosen both sets of straps completely
  3. Carefully place your foot inside the shoe until the entire insole is covered
  4. Gently tighten the bottom strap that runs across the bottom of the foot
  5. Finally, slowly tighten the second strap until the shoe fits comfortably

Designed for use after a foot operation, the Darco Softie Shoe provides you with rigidity and control of the forefoot. This helps with conditions that have been operated on like:

Tri-Laminated Upper

The Darco Softie's very soft, breathable upper is made of a poly-cotton blend that conforms to the bony contours of your foot. This allows you to remain comfortable and cool even after extended periods of use.

Metatarsal Protection

A semi-rigid metatarsal shank permits enough flexibility for ambulation while providing superior control of forefoot motion to ensure that post-operative healing is not disturbed. This makes for superior protection after osteotomies.

Delivery Information

Delivery - Free UK Mainland Delivery

Delivery is free of charge on all items at Health and Care when delivered to a mainland UK address. Your order is usually dispatched by Royal Mail or better and is normally dispatched the same day when ordered before 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. For orders placed outside of this timeframe, they should be dispatched on the next working day.

The delivery expectation of order sent via Royal Mail is 1 to 3 working days.

It is doing its job though it would have been better if a bit larger and we find the Velcro quite difficult

I found width shoe not wide enough, as was heavily bandaged foot operation, so had borrow shoe hospital but I made use shoe other found comfortable & was able walk without crutches. Will recommend product.

Bought this shoe after toe surgery and it's excellent. Very supportive yet soft & comfortable. I would definitely recommend this for post surgery.I am a size 6 & the ladies L is perfect. Thanks for making 6 weeks much easier with this shoe.

This soft shoe has allowed my 17 year old to go back out and socialise after a very long traumatic 3 months of being house bound.

The only down side to this shoe is we would ideally like a waterproof insert to protect it from getting wet while out, as this is the only limitation for him with this shoe.

We searched for a long time for one that he actually felt comfortable wearing that he wouldn't feel self conscious in and this shoe ticked that box also
