What Is the Function of the AOX Snellen Eye Test?

The Snellen test-type was developed as a means of measuring visual acuity in a range of patients. Snellen charts generally consist of eleven rows of capital letters, with each row being smaller than the last, and the top row consisting of only one letter.

For testing, patients are encouraged to read aloud the letters while standing (or sitting) a specified distance from the chart. For this particular chart, the patient should stand at the standard 6 metre distance during testing.
