What Is the Purpose Of the Paediatric Pulse Oximeter?

A fingertip pulse oximeter is a non-invasive tool designed to measure pulse rate and blood-oxygen saturation without the use of needles. This data enables carers and healthcare professionals to assess how well the body is transporting oxygen through the bloodstream.

The ChoiceMMed Bear-Design Oximeter model has been designed for use with younger children. To take the measurements, simply clip the oximeter onto the fingertip of the patient.

Who Is the Small Pulse Oximeter For?

The Bear-Design Pulse Oximeter by ChoiceMMed is perfect for children. It's the smallest fingertip oximeter in the world, and has been designed with children in mind. It is ideal for use either in homecare or in clinical environments.

Children whose blood-oxygen saturation may need to be monitored using the pulse oximeter include those whose SpO2 levels may have been impacted by illness or injury. This includes:

  • Those with heart or lung conditions, such as heart attacks, asthma, or pneumonia
  • Blood conditions like anaemia
  • Patients who have experienced significant drops in blood-oxygen levels due to choking, suffocation, or drowning
  • Sleep apnoea and similar disorders that disturb regular breathing
