Ossur Foot Up AFO with Shoeless Attachment

Need relief from drop foot whether or not you're wearing shoes? The Ossur Foot Up AFO with Shoeless Attachment includes the Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop AFO Support and the Ossur Foot Up Shoeless Attachment. This bundle is the perfect combination for those suffering from drop foot, allowing the AFO to be used with or without shoes.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Ossur Foot Up AFO
  • 1 x Ossur Foot Up Shoeless Attachment

How Does the Ossur Foot Up Support Drop Foot?

The Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop Support is a lightweight ankle-foot orthosis that offers dynamic support for drop foot, peroneal neuropathies and dysfunctional gait plus other similar complaints. This revolutionary support provides visible improvement in gait by supporting the foot the moment it is raised.

Can I Wear the Foot Up and Shoeless Bundle with Any Shoes?

The Foot Up with Shoeless Add-On is not only helpful for relieving foot drop with or without shoes, it is also exceptionally helpful for shoes that are not easily compatible with the normal Foot Up system. This includes sandals, flip-flops and Mary Jane-style shoes.

We would recommend that you stay away from high top and high laced up boots, as you may find that the product does not fit you properly. Otherwise, it will be perfect for most types of shoes, including ordinary trainers and work shoes.

How Can the Ossur Foot Up Help Me Walk?

Designed to counter the effects of drop-foot, the Ossur Foot Up is well suited for people that are suffering from neurological impairments such as a stroke or a condition such as Charcot Marie Tooth. For more information, please watch the video below:

Indications for Use

The Ossur Foot Up Drop Foot Support is suitable for the following:

  • Dynamic support for drop foot

The Ossur Foot Up Shoeless Add-On should be used in conjunction with the Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop Support. Please note that if you suffer from sensitive skin or are at risk of skin ulcerations or infections, you should consult a medical professional before using the product.

Start by measuring the circumference of your ankle to find the correct size for you.
Next, apply the ankle strap with the narrow hook and loop strip at the bottom.
Then, place the ankle strap above the widest part of the ankle and fasten tightly.

Fitting Ossur Foot Up Support
Place the inlay between the tongue and shoelaces and pull the strap between lace lines.
Correct the ankle strap and the inlay by pushing the two parts of the quick-acting closure together as indicated in picture four.

Fitting Ossur Foot Up Support Shoeless Attachment
Place the shoeless bandage immediately behind the ball of the foot so that the button rests on top as demonstrated in image three.
Lastly, connect the ankle strap and inlay by pushing the two parts of the closure system together.

Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop Support

The Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop Support features two separate parts; a cushioned ankle wrap which is comprised of three breathable layers of material which is perfect for every day use and long term wear, and a plastic inlay that fits discreetly between the tongue and laces of a shoe. The plastic inlay fastens to the ankle wrap with a strong elastic strap with a quick release clip for ease of use. This design also makes the Ossur Foot Up Foot Drop Support very discreet when wearing and ultimately very comfortable, with kind-to-skin materials and ergonomic design.

Good but has its limitations

Works well either with the 'bare-feet' device or with conventional shoes with a tongue and laces and the 'standard' device. But if you have swollen or otherwise 'odd' feet you probably have other types of shoe - and whether it works with these is tricky. It's really a test of your ingenuity to see if you can find a way of fastening the lower part of the kit to your shoe/sandal/slipper/foot etcetera, so it both stands the strain of helping your foot to lift but doesn't twist about and dig into your foot and doesn't ruin the shoe.

Big Improvement

Since receiving the Ossur Foot Up & Shoeless Bundle, my ability to walk has improved especially with the shoeless attachment, compared with the more solid ankle brace I have been using.
My only fear is that the velcro fastening on the foot section is strong enough, as it seems to pull pull away even if fitted tightly.

Good fit and mostly comfortable with slight tendancy to rub lower ankle and indentation from upper part as used longterm. More variety for skin colour useful. I think its expensive.
