What Does the OneWay Glide Positioning Cushion Do?

The Immedia Glide Cushion allows easy sliding in one direction, whilst resisting sliding in the other direction. It is used to maintain the user in a correct seated position, reducing shear and friction that can cause decubitus. It also reduces the risk of shear and friction during manual handling by minimising the pull on the skin.

Who Can Use the Glide Cushion with Handles?

This product is suitable for preventing sliding forward while sitting as well as facilitating independent or assisted positioning back in a chair. It is ideal for use when the patient needs repositioning repeatedly, and can be used independently or with a carer.

How Can the Handles Aid Repositioning?

The handles are useful for assisted transfers when attached to the hoist. The carer can stand in front of the user, supporting and guiding the user easily while the hoist slowly rises.

How Do I Use the OneWay Glide Cushion?

Using the Immedia OneWay Glide eases repositioning when the user slides forward in the wheelchair. To move backwards in the wheelchair, the user must lean forward, hold the armrest and push toward the backrest using their arms and legs. Once upright again, the unique design of the cushion will prevent sliding again.

Washing Instructions

Do not use fabric softener as this will reduce the glide effect. This product can be cleaned with a solvent-free cleaning agent with a pH level between 5 and 9, or a 70% disinfection solution.
