What Does the OneWay Glide Positioning Cushion Do?

The Immedia Glide Cushion allows easy sliding in one direction, whilst resisting sliding in the other direction. It is used to maintain the user in a correct seated position, reducing shear and friction that can cause decubitus. It also reduces the risk of shear and friction during manual handling, minimising the pull on the skin and avoiding sores forming on the pelvic bones.

Who Can Use the Immedia Glide Cushion?

This product is suitable for preventing sliding forward while sitting as well as facilitating independent or assisted positioning back in a chair. It is ideal for use when the patient needs repositioning repeatedly, and can be used independently or with a carer. Please note that, due to its velour construction, this cushion must be used on a textile surface.

How Do I Use the OneWay Glide Cushion?

Using the Immedia OneWay Glide eases repositioning when the user slides forward in the wheelchair. To move backwards in the wheelchair, the user must lean forward, hold the armrest and push toward the backrest using their arms and legs. Once upright again, the unique design of the cushion will prevent sliding again.

Cleaning Instructions

This product can be machine washed at a maximum temperature of 80ºC, though washing at lower temperatures will increase its lifespan. It can be wiped clean with a cloth and tumble dried at a low temperature. You can also clean the product with a solvent-free cleaning agent with a pH level between 5–9, or with a 70% disinfectant solution.
