Alerta Detect Motion Sensor and Wall Point Wireless Receiver

Pressure mats are great for monitoring the safety of patients prone to wandering, but as they limit them to single small areas like a bed, chair or patch of the floor, they can be quite restrictive. The Alerta Detect Motion Sensor and Wall Point Wireless Receiver offer patients a greater amount of freedom and independence, while still allowing carers to make sure they don't leave a certain area or fall over. With a detection radius of up to 95 metres, a customisable volume and mains or battery operation, this set is fantastic addition to any elderly care environment.

Please Note: The Both the Alerta Motion Sensor and Wall Point Receiver are available with or without connections to a nurse call system. Select your desired options using the drop-down menu aboves.

To use them together without use of a nurse call system, please select Standalone System on both dropdown menus.

What's Included?

  • 1 x Motion Sensor
  • 1 x Wireless Receiver

Who Can Use the Alerta Detect Motion Detector and Wireless Receiver?

The Alerta Detect Motion Sensor uses infrared technology to trigger and alert the Receiver when body movement is detected within the range of the beam. This is fantastic for patients with dementia or other memory problems who are prone to wandering. The system allows a carer or loved one to monitor patient movement without being in the room.

How Do the Alerta Motion Detector and Wireless Receiver Connect?

The Alerta Detect Motion Wall Point Receiver can be used either as part of a nurse call system with up to five sensors, or as a standalone alert system with a single Alerta wireless sensor like the included motion sensor:

  • As Part of Nurse Call System: This is ideal for care homes and hospitals. Select your desired nurse call connection type using the drop-down menu above.
  • Standalone System: This is ideal for residential care. To use this item as part of a standalone alarm system, select the No Nurse Call Connection option from the drop-down above.

How Do I Use the Wireless Receiver As a Standalone System?

For residential care settings or situations in which nurse call systems are not present, the Alerta Wireless Receiver will work conveniently as a standalone system. When an alert is triggered from a connected Alerta wireless device, the signal will be sent directly to the receiver where an alarm will sound. This allows the carer to carry the Alerta Wall Point Receiver with them as they attend to other tasks, as seen in the image below.

Can I Adjust the Alarm Volume?

Yes, when using the Alerta Wireless Receiver as part of a standalone alarm system, the alarm can be adjusted to your preference. It can be toggled between silent, low and high alarm settings, which is ideal when seeking to avoid disturbing others in the room. The volume setting can be found on the back of the receiver, as shown in the image below.

Can I Pause the Receiver's Detection Sensitivity?

Yes, this receiver features a convenient three-minute pause function in which it will not signal an alert when a sensor is triggered. This is ideal when working in the room with a patient, or when the user is expected to move through motion sensors or walk over sensor mats.

What Is the Wireless Range?

Using radio frequency technology to receive signals from Alerta wireless sensors like the included motion sensor, the Wall Point Receiver has a detection radius of us to 95 metres. The maximum range will depend on the type of building materials and number of obstructions, but should provide more than enough range for the majority of care settings.

Patient Freedom

One of the primary advantages of the Alerta Detect compared to traditional alarm mats is its ability to give patients the freedom of their room, without sacrificing safety and quality care. This system allows the patient a certain amount of movement and mobility, while still providing care teams with advanced warning of any risk of falling, or attempts to wander from the room.

The Alerta detect is most effective when mounted near a door or at a patient's bedside, to detect either falls or wandering. When the patient moves into the range of the infrared beam, it will activate the nurse call system, prompting the care giver to ascertain the patient's safety.
