This traditional chestnut hiking stick is not just made, it is grown! The ancient technique of coppicing involves cutting back the source trees about a metre back from the ground, stimulating the growth of new shoots that grow to an appropriate diameter for a walking stick.

Practical Design

A working compass is inset into the handle of this staff, providing a handy navigation aid on those longer treks. The staff is also supplied with an alpine ferrule as standard. Specially developed for icy surfaces, its sharp spike provides fantastic grip on nearly all types of outdoor terrain.
