Zoll Pedi-Padz II Electrodes for AED Plus and Pro Defibrillators

The Zoll Pedi-Padz II Electrodes for AED Plus and Pro Defibrillators are designed specifically for use with the Zoll AED Plus and Pro to provide defibrillation and CPR assistance for paediatric patients.

The Zoll Pedi-Padz II electrodes have anatomically correct diagrams on the package to ensure the pad is placed properly onto the patient.

Using the Zoll Pedi-Padz II Electrodes

Separate and specific algorithms for adults and children are used to analyse a victim's heart rhythm. The Zoll AED Plus and Pro can defibrillate children up to eight years of age, using the Pedi-Padz II electrodes. Separate energy levels also have been incorporated for paediatric patients.

Electronics in the AED adjust defibrillating energy levels automatically so that suitable doses are delivered accurately, when needed. With ECG analysis designed specifically for a paediatric heart rate, coupled with appropriate defibrillation energy levels, the AED can handle both adult and paediatric rescues. 

Real CPR Help

Failure to adequately compress a victim's chest or to compress too quickly is a common error during CPR. Real CPR Help provides real-time feedback on compression rate and depth during CPR. Simply place hands on the CPR sensor and perform CPR; software in the AEDs and professional defibrillators evaluates rate and depth.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Information

The heart has its own electrical system that controls the rhythm of your heartbeat. Defects within the electrical system can cause abnormal rhythms, commonly known as arrhythmias. Arrhythmias cause the heart to beat irregularly or sometimes stop altogether, the most common of which is ventricular fibrillation (VF). 

Sudden Cardiac Arrest occurs when the electrical system of the heart stops working effectively – the heart will unexpectedly stop pumping, when this occurs, blood stops flowing to the heart, brain and other vital organs and within seconds, the victim collapses and becomes completely unresponsive. Death will occur if not treated within the first few minutes.
